Gucci Mane faces up to 20 years in prison after he was charged with two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon in a federal court earlier today. In September, Gucci was arrested, on two separate occasions, where he was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm after becoming “increasingly agitated.”
Given that he was a felon at the time and wasn’t allowed to be in possession of any kind of weapon, the courts don’t seem to be taking it easy on the Atlanta rapper. Each possession charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years and a $250,000 fine, according to CNN.
“On September 12, 2013, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm,” said the federal prosecutor’s news release. “Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney.”
